September Boxycharm time.
Although this box was pretty meh for me, it’s still near impossible to beat for the cost. My palette arrives with 2 pans smashed. After 2 emails to Boxycharm, the second after which they asked for a picture of the palette next to the shipping box, they credited my Boxycharm account with 1000 pts which equals $10 in credit. I was OK with this as I didn’t really need another neutral palette and most of the shadows were still usable anyway!
Pur Cosmetics Soiree Diaries palette reg $34 – These shadows are similar in feel and performance to Lorac’s. I find them a little powdery but very beginner friendly and easy to blend. The shimmers are especially lovely.
MAC Eyebrow Pencil (Spiked) reg $18 – The tip broke off of this the first 2 times I used it. Perhaps it was a bit dried out, I had only twisted it up the tiniest bit so that wasn’t the issue. It is very dry and takes some pressure to apply. The line is very fine and I found it long lasting. Warning: this does NOT twist back down.
Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip (Mess Around) reg $6 – Brown. Very brown. Very Drew Barrymore in the 90s brown. It’s brown. A bit drying and definitely brown.
Studio Makeup Loose Blush reg $18(?) – I don’t mind loose products but I will probably press this sometime soon just for ease of use. This seems to be only sold on Amazon or the Boxycharm website for $36 (!!). This is a crazy price as the loose powders are only $18 on the Studio Makeup website.
Bareminerals Face Perfecting Brush reg $28 – Softish synthetic brush. If you don’t want to use it to apply foundation, it makes a lovely buffing brush for contour and cheek products.
Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask 2 oz $36 for 8 oz – I’ll be able to get 3 applications for my medium length hair out of this tube. It has a pleasant generic sweet almost floral fragrance and seemed to really soften my dry, brittle, color treated hair. Not so sure I’d buy a full jar for $36 though.
