My mother instilled in me the importance of taking care of my skin from an early age. I didn’t get makeup like most of my Junior High friends, I got night cream and sunscreen. Back then I was less than thrilled, but now that I’m in my 40’s, I couldn’t BE more thankful (said in my best Chandler Bing from “Friends” voice).
This is my current morning line-up. Some of these are old favorites and some are new additions that won’t be repurchased. I generally like to change-up my routine, because, boredom.
I have combination skin with a few fine lines around my eyes, small-ish pores, dry flaky skin on my nose and at the end of the day a bit of oil buildup on my forehead. I live in a dry, desert climate and spent a lot of time in and out doors. I wear BB creams and tinted moisturizer so it’s important to me to have fresh, luminous skin.
L’oreal Hydrafresh Toner – This is probably my 5th bottle of this toner. When I don’t use it, the flaking skin on my nose gets out of hand. It does have alcohol in it and I don’t use it on my eyes as it tends to sting but I use this every morning after cleansing. I generally buy this from Amazon for about $6 per bottle that lasts about 4 months. I will ALWAYS repurchase this.
Neutrogena Age Intensives Deep Wrinkle Anti Wrinkle Serum – This replaced my Buffet Serum from The Ordinary. I will not repurchase. There is nothing wrong with it. I’ve been using it for about 3 months and it soaks in nicely, has no fragrance to speak of but, for the cost, I’d rather go back to the Buffet.
Clinique All About Eyes – I received a full size of this as a gift with purchase. $32.50? Yeah, no. It’s pleasantly cooling, no fragrance, does not sting, and also does not make any noticeable difference. Perhaps I would’ve loved this in my 20’s. Will not repurchase.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ – I’d give this an 8/10. No fragrance, doesn’t leave a greasy feel, soaks in nicely. Man this bottle is lasting me a long time though and I need some variety in my life. I use 1 pump every morning in the winter and a bit more in the summer. At $27 for a bottle to last going on 6 months now… that’s value.
Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel Sunscreen SPF 50 – If you haven’t tried an Asian beauty sunscreen you are missing out on perfection! No weird sunscreen smell (you know what I’m talking about) nor thick cream just sitting on top of your face messing up your makeup application. This Biore sunscreen is light, thin, fragrance free and works! Only sad thing is that I bought the wrong type. Normally I get the Watery ESSENCE not gel. The gel is a bit drying so great for oily skin. This will be a forever repurchase for me!
