Beautylish Lucky Bag

If you aren’t familiar with Beautylish, they are an online only beauty retailer carrying a limited selection of items from various beauty brands. What makes Beautylish different from Sephora or Ulta is their attention to detail and great customer service. You’ll be hard pressed to find someone complaining about their Beautylish purchases. Their packaging is impeccable and if you ever have to contact customer service, they will make sure you’re happy.

Every December 26 they offer a Lucky Bag  which is a Japanese New Year custom where retailers put together mystery bags filled with unknown items offered at a pretty hefty discount. Beautylish’s Lucky Bags are a complete mystery,  there are no spoilers.

2 bags offered:  A $75 regular bag with a $150 value and a $150 XL bag with a $350 value plus shipping. The bags are offered first to Beautylish customers who have spent $1000 or more, then to those who signed up for notification and then to the general public.

This is the regular bag I received this year. Although I’m not fall out of my chair thrilled I’m still looking forward to next years bag! Comparing to others I’ve seen, I’d say mine is on the lower end of the spectrum.

Ordered 12/26/2017 received 1/11/2018

Jouer Skinny Dip palette $40 – I haven’t swatched this yet but will post to Instagram when I do!

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector $32 – This is highly recommended so I’m excited to try it.

By Terry Terrybly Velvet Rouge Liquid Lip 1. Lady Bare $47 – Almost 25% of the total retail value and I don’t do lips, Ugh.

Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Mask $13 – I HATED the Sulwhasoo mask. It felt like plastic window screening, would not lay flat and dried up with 10 minutes. Ugh, it was awful. Last picture is a close up of this mask.

Wayne Goss #17 $28 – I adore his brushes and am happy to now have 2 of these.

Bioderma Micellar Water 100ml $9

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray 75ml $22 – Suuuuuuuure this is worth $22 :/

Total retail value: $191

  1. These are kinda hit and miss for sure, but on the bright side you have a new Wayne Goss brush, extra goodies and can now firmly say that thw mask is gibberish. Thw only high end one I have liked this far is the SKII one.

  2. I love the idea of Surprice Bags, but when the price is a bit high I tend to stay away from them. I always start to overanalyze things hahaha 😀 Like what if the products sucks, or they’re just not for me – I would get so sad. The Jouer product is probably what I liked the best out of your bag 🙂

    • I know what you mean, I generally stay away from mystery type bags. Beautylish is always so great that I was willing to take the chance. I’ll do it again next year, I’m a glutton for punishment 🤣🤣🤣
