Kat Von D Shade & Light Glimmer Palette

I purchased the Shade & Light Glimmer palette for $29 (reg $48) with free shipping from the Kat Von D website. I’ve never used any Kat Von D products so I thought this might be a good place to start.

I placed my order on 1/21/2018 and received it on 1/25/2018.

The Glimmer is the sister palette to the Shade & Light Eye Contour and contains 3 satin, 3 metallic, 3 glitter, and 3 glimmer shadows.

You’d be hard pressed to create a full eye look with this alone, it’s very shimmery. It can absolutely be done, but not for me. I found the shadows to be easy to blend with the exception of the glitters, and longevity was on par with my Smashbox and Lorac palettes.

All in all I was satisfied with this palette but I wouldn’t say the formulations were magical. The packaging however is gorgeous, heavy-duty and thoughtfully made.

  1. This palette looks so pretty, but I just know I won’t use it because I need some matt shades, I had one similar from Make Up Forever that I gave to my sister because I wasn’t using it! But you got an amazing deal and the review you did is brillant!

  2. I’m just not into this palette, I think it’s the all shimmers and glitters. I just don’t see myself going for this ever. I’m glad you like it and get it to work for you.

    • In the grand scheme of palettes, this one is pretty boring! I’m glad I bought it, for the price it was a great way to try Kat Von D shadows but the colors are definitely not life changing 😂
