Milk Makeup Watermelon Brightening Serum

The Watermelon Brightening Serum from Milk Makeup has been on my radar since it came out. I’m a sucker for anything watermelon so this really peaked my interest. Regularly priced at $36 this was definitely far out of my price range for an untried product from a company that I know nothing about. Hoorah for the r/MUAontheCheap community! It was posted that multiple codes were stacking at one point so I snatched up this serum for $18 shipped, much more within my budget!

  • Ordered 4/9
  • Shipped 4/10
  • Received 4/17 via UPS

I’m still testing this out nightly. I like the smooth feel but I’m not so sure about rubbing a stick all over my face.

This does NOT smell like watermelon. At all. It is fragrance free. It smells like nothing. Had I known that, I wouldn’t have bothered really. I know fragrance is not desirable in skincare, but damn it, I wanted to smell like a watermelon!

  1. I can’t believe it doesn’t smell like watermelon either! That was probably the biggest selling point for me, lol

    • Me too! I was putting off ordering the Glow Recipe Watermelon stuff (which I know smells like watermelon candy) in favor of this because it was so deeply discounted. Urgh! Oh well, win some, lose some 🙂

  2. The fact that it doesn’t even smell like watermelon, or anything, is totally disappointing! Why else would anyone ever purchase anything with watermelon in the name 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was also curious about this product, and it was definitely the “Watermelon” that piqued my interest.

    • I looked up the ingredients and “Citrullus Vulgaris Fruit Extract” is Watermelon extract & listed 9th amongst Bitter Orange, Lentil and Chicory extracts. I guess “Milk Lentil Serum” didn’t appeal to the test group LOL.
